Artist's Description
Part of the historic Old Town section of Eureka, California, the Ritz Building has presided over Third and F Streets since 1947. The building is one of the finest examples of streamlined modern architecture in Eureka. The style was inspired by nautical design and is characterized by curves such as the curved wall at the Ritz Club¿s main entrance. The building is an outstanding example of Art Deco design not found elsewhere in the area.
About Kathleen Grace
Kathleen Grace is an artist and art photographer in a variety of media, and has exhibited in galleries and exhibitions in California, New Mexico, North Carolina, Washington and Oregon. Grace's studio arts training was through college and university studies and workshops, and in private apprenticeship-style education with several prominent artists and photographers over a period spanning about 10 years. Note that all artwork and photography are copyright the artist. As an artist Grace is interested as well in arts administration and education.
